You can give us more information, such as exactly when it
hangs during the startup process, which version of XP you
are using, what hardware you have, what you changed just
before this started happening, and what you found in the
Event Log when you started it in Safe Mode (and if,
indeed, you were able to start it in Safe Mode).
You could also post this in the Windows XP\General group
(microsoft.public.windowsxp.general), which might be more
appropriate since this does not sound like a question
about security.
