URGENT !! PDC no more available

A

Alberto Brivio

Dear All,

I have a big problem with trust relationship !!!!

This is because the PDC seems to be no more available , other domain member
cannot reach it to replicate AD information

Besides, if I try to connet by "my network places" it returns an error like
"logon failure: target account is incorrect"

This problem stops all activities and I don't know how to re-establish
normal behaviour.

Anyone of you could give me an help?

.
Alberto! Ciao!

What Trusts? Are you talking about domains in the same
tree? Are you talking about Trusts between WINNT 4 and
WIN2000 AD?

I would install that Support Tools on your WIN2000 AD
Domain Controllers ( well, actually, all your WIN2000
Servers! ). The Support Tools are located in two places:
on your WIN2000 Server CD in the Support | Tools folder
or on the WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support | Tools
folder. I would take the Service Pack CD if possible.

Make sure that all of the FSMO Roles are available (
there are five: two are at the Forest level and three
are at the Domain level - and these apply to each and
every domain in the Tree / Forest ).

If you are having problems with WINNT 4 - WIN2000 AD
Trusts then consider using NETDOM to create the Trusts.
You just need to make sure that WINS and DNS are correct
and that all appropriate users /groups are members of all
appropriate groups.

HTH,

Cary
