Uploading front page to web server (HELM)

I am uploading my web site to a host who uses HELM - wwwroot directory.
Front Page extensions are installed. If I add a subdomain through HELM, it
creates a folder in the same directory on the web server. The problem is
that when I upload my site using "local to remote" for some reason front page
deletes any empty folders (ie newly created subdomain) on the server. The
only way around this is to copy the new folders from remote to local before
updated my front page site. Doesn't make any sense as "local to remote"
should leave any unmatched files on the remote alone, but it doesn't... very
time

Make those new "helm" folders empty FP subwebs on your local FP and remote FP webs
- and when you publish do not include subwebs

Thank you. Does it make sense why Front Page deletes these files? I would
have thought that any file on the remote server, not matched, would be
untouched when you click "local to remote". Even synch should simply copy an
unmatched folder rather than delete it. This is a pain as even secure
folders placed in that directory by HELM are deleted if I don't transfer them
to my local fp directory first.. Is this a common occurance with frontpage
and HELm, or other servers, or is there something wrong with my set-up?

Yes that is the way FP syncs or publishes
- it is not intended to work w/ non-FP web content so use the workaround
