Uploading a Searchable Catalog

Hello!!

I am new to FrontPage and web design, and need some help!! I currently
finished designing a 72 page business product catalog in Microsoft Publisher
2003. Included are over 2,000 images. My boss wants me to add the catalog
to FrontPage, and he also eventually wants a search box added to the website
to quickly and easily locate any of the catalog products by typing in their
product number.

Normally, I have been saving each catalog page as a jpeg file and uploading
it to FrontPage, but I don't believe this is the best or most efficient way.
Is there a way to create a type of photo gallery of the catalog?? Something
that can be viewed easily by others online? Rather than clicking page by
page to see?? A PDF file, maybe? I am looking for the best way to save on
website space as well as preserve the quality of my images.

Also, what is the best way for me to prepare my website for product look-up
(searches)? Do all of my image numbers need links in the catalog?

Any help in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Look for a shopping cart. Which cart you choose depends on what your
host supports (asp, asp.NET, php, Access database, MS SQL, mySQL etc.)
and your budget.
If using a Windows server that supports asp and Access, then Candypress
(http://www.candypress.com) may be suitable.

Or convert to PDF with Adobe Acrobat which I believe with then allow users to search.

If your site is hosted on Windows IIS web server and you just want a searchable catalog of product
with no means of purchasing directly from the web site, contact me via my site below.

Since you've done it in Publisher, inserting that into FP will be a
nightmare (because converting a publisher file to HTML is horrible); it
would be best and easier if you convert the Pub file to PDF and upload that
to the site with a link to it.

If you want an E-Commerce solution, this is more complicated. CHeck with
your host - they could probably recommend products that work well with their
servers.
