upload problem

My network connectivity if fine, im able to surf, send
e mails etc. But I cannot send any attachments with my e
mails even the smallest ones- it times out. I also cannot
upload files to my website and cant send files over msn
messenger. Im not running a firewall.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please help me.

SMTP server timeout errors are typically caused by antivirus software.
Disable scanning of outgoing emails and see if that helps. If this problem
is caused by antivirus software then the timeout errors can simply be
ignored. If you are using a dialup connection you can simply look at the
dialup connection's taskbar icon for connection staus to see whether data is
actually being sent.
