I only have FP2000, so I do not have this option. What my
query is if I would have problems if I created one in 2002
or 2003 and edited the rest of the page on 2000 afterwards.

I don't think it'd be necessary.
there are tons of upload scripts out there in everything from PEARL, to ASP,
to PHP.
I'd recommend ASP for maximum FrontPage convenience and PHP as a second
choice.
