Upgrading w2k to xp pro

I have a client who has sbs 2003 running on there server. He wants to
uprgade two computers which are connected to that server which are running
w2k pro. I know that i have two options buying an upgrade cd or a retail
copy and install fresh.
Is there a downside of upgrading when attached to a server? Do I lose my
profile which was created in a w2k pro environment or anything else that i
should know about?
What is the best solution? Time v stability?

Thanks
Ian

Win2000 and WinXP are closely related, hence there will
be no problem when upgrading from one to the other. Buy
an upgrade copy and go for it - the upgraded installation
will inherit all the settings from the Win2000 installation.

You might, of course, ask your client WHY he wishes to
upgrade. There might be good reasons but perhaps he is
just starry-eyed.
