Upgrading Video Card

Have a 7800 and the drivers for that card but as Nvidia have now made
separate drivers for each generation of Geforce how would upgrades work.
Will Vista revert back to its basic drivers or should I remove the drivers
for the old card before putting the new one on.

btw: card will be either a nvidia 8800 or an ATI card

will_s,

For best results, always remove the existing video card drivers before
installing a new card and its drivers, or when updating the drivers for your
current card. To remove them, they (drivers) should be shown in Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs. You can also download DriverCleaner, a free
utility that will remove the drivers for you. Always follow the installation
instructions provided by nVidea and by ATI. Moreover, Vista doesn't care
when you install new drivers, so long as they are compatible with Vista.

The new nVidia install program will offer you the option of removing old drivers
before installing the newer version (158.18).
