Upgrading Outlook 2003

Brian

Looking at upgrading only Outlook 2003, already have
Office 2000 pro and I am not a position to upgrade all of
the Office products. Already upgraded server 2003 and
exchange and I am only looking for the benifits of Outlook
2003 in cobination with server 2003, exchange and active
directoy. Is there any issues with this upgrade? and what
should I be looking out for? Upgrading to windows XP is
also an option.

If you want to install Outlook 2003, you'll need to be running Windows 2000
or Windows XP. Outlook 2003 won't install on Windows 98.

For advantages:

1. RPC over HTTP. Clients can connect to Exchange 2003 using RPC over HTTP.
This can eliminate the need for a VPN connection to the server for out of
office workers.
2. Enhanced SPAM filtering. Outlook 2003 has a very good SPAM filter.
3. Cached Exchange Mode - can be helpful for flaky network connections.
