upgrading md+CPU XP troubles

I have a problem, i've read the two ways to repair XP when upgrading a
motherboard or Harddrive but I don't have an actual XP disc, rather i
Recieved 3 cd's from Emachines that repair XP. I'm thinking this might
be a problem because all it did was clear my C:/ and my new motherboard
still won't work, if someone could assist me, i'd appreciate it.

If you "upgraded" the board to other than came with e-machines,youre in
a tough spot...The cds wont work with the new board, you'll need to get a
retail copy of xp,the upgrade will work only as long as a windows OS is on
the hd,if it gets corrupted, etc, you'll have no prior windows os for the
upgrade
to verify to.For now,no repair will ever work with a new mb,you need a clean
xp installation, get a full xp version youre set, with an upgrade, look out
for a 95,
98,or ME cd.

If your Windows XP came preinstalled on your eMachines computer then
it is probably a BIOS Locked OEM version.

What exactly is the problem that you are encountering when you try to
use the eMachines CDs with the new motherboard? Is there an error
message of some kind?

You are probably out of luck with regard to using the eMachines
supplied OEM Windows XP as it cannot be activated on anything but an
eMachines motherboard.

Good luck
