i got a bigger harddrive than my old 1, and did a disk
copy. I changed the jumper to the right settings so the
new harddrive would be master the old 1 slave. when i
boot up it says old drive is c: and not new 1, or wont
log on at all saying it has a problem with certain
registered keys and logs off again, before it even goes
into desktop. I am runnining XP pro , does anone now how
to solve this?

How did you 'copy' the drive.

Most copying processes will not transfer hidden Operating System files.

XP labels drives and you won't change the drive letter by running a copy and
switching from Slave to Master and vice versa.

A successful transfer from small to large drive, will require disk cloning
software such as Norton Ghost. Some hard drive manufacturers prepare their
'retail' drives with a CD that will do this all 4 u. Maxtor and Seagate have
great tools which work. If you have another brand try searching the web pages
for your hard drive manufacturer.

After cloning, you will need to perform a repair installation in order for
XP to operate properly.

You cannot move and OS from one drive to another by doing a disk copy.
