upgrading hard drive controllers from ultra-100 ide to serial ata controller hd

Hi, i am upgrading a hard drive with an ultra-100
controller ide hard drive to a serial ata controller with
serial hard drive. i am planning to ghost hard drive by
using symantec ghost and then reinstalling win2k
installing the serial controller driver on the initial
win2k settings by pressing F6. if there is any other way i
can do it by simply modifying the registry or simpler way
i am all ears thanks for the help

There is one thing you can try before doing the reinstall however it may
not work. Put the SATA controller in the system and get its drivers
working. Shut down the system. Then Ghost the system onto the new hard
drive and boot up. You should have a working system with the new SATA
drivers that you already installed.
