Upgrading from xpsp1 french version

Quick question. I have a friend on a pay per minute dial-up who is on
xp sp1 french language version. Trojan hunter found more than 1000
trojans on her pc and I am anxious to get her onto sp2. It is
prohibitively expensive for her to dowload the updates from windows
update so she refuses to turn on auto windows updates. I have an
english language update CD for sp2. Can someone tell me if I can use
this to upgrade her system and if not where can I get hold of an update cd
for
xp2 in french.

No, you'll need the French version of SP2 in order to install
SP2 on a French version of Windows XP.

Thanks for your reply Carey. A 4-6 week delivery time is really too long. As
I have broadband, is there anywhere I can download the french sp2 upgrade
and burn it to CD for her?

SP2 supersedes SP1 in its entirety, therefore there is no need to install
SP1 at all since SP2 covers all bases.

Thanks a lot.

SP2 is cumulative and includes all of SP1. There is no need to
install SP1 first.
