upgrading from windows me in french to windows xp in english

hi, i have windows me in french and i bought an home edition upgrade to
windows xp,but everytime that i try to install windows xp in english a
message tells me that it cannot upgrade from windows me in french to windows
xp in english cause their not the same language. can someone help me upgrade
to windows xp in details please.

You cannot upgrade from one language version of Windows to another.
If you wish to install an English version of Windows XP, you'll need to
purchase a "Full English" version of Windows XP and proceed with a
"clean install".

You can purchase an English language CD for Win ME (or Win95, Win98, Win98
SE) for cheap on Ebay. Or borrow one from someone.

That error messages states the case about as simply as it possibly can
be stated. If you want to upgrade a French WinMe, you'll need to use a
French version of WinXP.

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS to
another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of WinXP
(in whatever language you want) to perform a clean installation.
