Upgrading from Workgroup to AD Domain

Dear all,
I'm using Win2K server as the file server in the
workgroup, but now I would like to change it to the AD
Domain as the first Domain Controller. I want to reinstall
the server before I promote it to DC. How can I backup and
retrieve the files with the Access Control List (NTFS
permission) so that I do not need to set once again after
I upgrade it to a DC? All the files/folders are in the
other partition and No EFS in the system.

Alas, the NTFS permissions will change anyway, as you will need to create
domain accounts for everyone to use, and the SIDs will be different, so I
would just back up the data, dcpromo the box or do a full reinstall, and
redo your shares and permissions from scratch.
