Upgrading from Win95

C

Chris

I have a Gateway p-5 120 with a 1.5 Gig harddrive. I want
to upgrade the Win 95 to Win XP by purchasing a 40 Gig
harddrive and installing Win XP on the 40 Gig drive. What
is my besy option to get this Win Xp upgrade done?

A.Install Win XP on the 1.5 Gig drive over Win 95?
B.Install Win XP on the 40 Gig drive and use 'Windows
Cleaner' to erase Win 95 off of the 1.5 Gig Drive?

If I do option B, then how would I change over to the 40
Gig drive as my primary drive and use WIN XP?

Chris;
Don't even try.
You have several problems.
Windows XP processor minimum is 233mhz with a practical minimum of
about 366mhz.
Memory minimum of 64mb with a practical minimum of 256mb.
Windows XP uses a minimum of 1.5gb hard drive, recommended of at least
4gb dedicated to Windows XP.
That computer will work fine with Windows 98SE but no more.

Chris,
You would be wasting your time and money upgrading the system you
referenced. You could purchase a complete system with XP installed for the
cost of upgrading your hardware and software.
Your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements by a long shot.
