Upgrading from W2K Server

G

Guest

I have a Dell PowerEdge Server running W2K Server SP4 and Exchange 2K Enterprise Server, but have been told to upgrade to W2K Advanced Server to help resolve some virtual memory limitations we have seen. Is this upgrade possible, what are the recommended steps? So far I have only found documents for upgrading from prior versions of NT to Advanced Server.

Thank you for your help.

If I read the following article right you should be able too;
232039 Windows 2000 Upgrade Paths

You might also call Sales and ask them if additional questions;

And if I read this excerpt from that article correctly, you can't!

Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Server Retail (Full) Version
Windows 2000 Server Upgrade Version

Note There is no way to upgrade to Windows 2000 Advanced Server

I saw that and wondered about it, but then saw the section below it for
Win2k Advanced Server;
Windows 2000 Advanced Server Retail (Full) Version
Windows 2000 Advanced Server Upgrade Version

As I read it this article was for win2k server as indicated in the More Info
at the top;
The following upgrade paths for Windows 2000 are supported:

However to get an answer for myself as well, called sales, and they
confirmed that you can Not upgrade from Standard version to Advanced.

I stand corrected, head bowed, hat in hand <g>
