Does any one know it I will need to reinstall my
programs, if I upgrade from Windows XP Home to Windows XP
Professional?

My son did this with no problem on a Dell PIII. He had XP Home installed
and needed XP Pro to get on his school's network. He just ran the XP Pro
Upgrade CD and it installed right over XP Home, leaving all applications in
place and running.

I am not a software professional, so I can't guarantee your results, but I
thought I'd post this and hope it helps you.

You should uninstall any antivirus program before upgrading
to XP Pro, then reinstall it afterward. As long as you select
the default "Upgrade" option, and not "New Installation", all
other programs would not require reinstallation.

Greetings --

Of course, there are no iron-clad, 100% guarantees when it comes
to updating any kind of computer software, much less an operating
system. WinXP is designed to install and upgrade the existing
operating system while simultaneously preserving your data and
translating as many personalized settings as possible. The process is
designed to be, and normally is, quite painless. That said, things can
go wrong, in a small number of cases. If your data is at all
important to you, back it up before proceeding.
