Upgraded PC - old programs

I

iinet NEWS

I had to built a new PC after the old one failed (motherboard died) and
because of the substantial hardware upgrade decided to install a new OEM
version of XP Pro as the other version is illegal.

Is it possible to install the OEM XP PRo over the existing version and keep
all my programs and settings?

The re-installation of the programs is my least preferred option due to
insufficient time available.

Can anyone advise a good solution. Thanks in advance.

I trust that you have arranged for support, should you ever need it, as
Microsoft do not provide support for OEM disks. You need to get support from
the OEM!
