Upgraded from 512mb ram to 1g and runs slower

I recently upgraded my ram to decrease my paged and nonpaged kernel memory.
But once installed I see the same performance and maybe even a little less...
I also looked and right-clicked My Computer and on the information says .99G
RAM so I knowits correctly installed, please help
 
If the larger RAM module didn't help, then most likely RAM was not your
problem. I noticed a signigicant performance increase in my system when I
upgraded from 512 to 1 GB.
