I have just attempted to upgrade from Windows 98 to
Windows 2000 Professional.
How do I get all the programmes installed on Windows 98 to
move across to Windows 200 Professional?

Thanks.

You don't say what actually happened when you "attempted" the upgrade.

If in fact you wound up with a clean install of W2k, you must install
all apps on W2k.

If you wound up with both W98 and W2k on the machine you probably have
to install all apps on W2k.

If you wound up with a successful upgrade-in-place of W98==>W2k then the
apps should have migrated.

Upgrades, unlike clean installs, are iffy and not always successful. In
fact, the resulting W2k may have many frustrating imperfections. Such
upgrades seem intuitively to be timesavers, but sometimes are the reverse.

also it depends if all applications you are running are 32
bit versions of software not all games or educational
titles are windows 2000 friendly. So that is another thing
you can look at.

Upgrades like that rarely go well and you wind up with a very unstable
system. Better off to backup data files and do a clean install of Win2K.
