I loaded xp pro upgrade on a windows 98 machine. After 15
days went by to activate the program it won't let me log
into the computer, it says that the product key has
exceeded the number of time used and cannot activate.

Can I go get a xppro upgrade licesense and CD from the
store and use this product key to log into that computer?

Thanks a bunch.
Steve

So you think I can supply the new product key and that
will activate it. It was loaded on a different product
key..

If you set out on Activate by Phone, a little way down is a place where
you can change the key. Change to one that is *not* on use on a
different machine, then carry on. If it is only letting you boot to
Safe mode you will have to finish the activation by phone.

Note that if this is a retail copy which you have removed from another
machine, you do not have to change the key; you would be able to
activate that by phone, explaining it was such a transfer. The thing is
that you may not have it on more than one machine, nor transfer one of
the cheaper OEM versions

"Andre : I am having activation problems and need the number to activate .
Do you have it?

please respond to (e-mail address removed) due to the fact that i am contacting
you through another post.
