I have a Win2k system that I have been using for quite a while and I am
ready to upgrade to WinXP (who knows why? ).

Is there any reason to not do an upgrade (as opposed to a clean install
with reinstallation of 100-200 programs!!!!)? Where can I find info on
the pitfalls in the upgrade? or should I expect few??

Thanks,
Ken K

You can ONLY upgrade to WinXP Pro from Win2K Pro! WinXP Home would be
considered a "downgrade" and is not supported, thus it would require a clean
install (and reinstall of your 100-200 programs).

Put the WinXP Pro CD in the drive and run the "Check system compatibility"
utility. This will tell you if you can expect any problems or not and what
you might need to do to mitigate the problems.
