Anyone upgraded from 8500 128mb to 9800 128 mb and experienced lower frame
rates??? I upgraded and now Call of Duty looks like a slideshow. Ran
flawlessly with my trusty 8500 128 mb. Followed ATI's upgrade instructions
to the letter when installing new card (repeated several times. . .)
Adjusting graphic properties in Call of Duty do not seem to help, so I think
something up with the new card. . .Help plz!!!

p.s. - XP id's the 9800 as an 9800 Pro. . .

There is a patch on ATI's web site (not sure where) from what I'm told to
patch the 9500 and up. I heard it will be fixed in the next drivers.

I've read that the hot fix is a beta pending release of Catalyst 3.10 and
they may or may not be relaible. A second option is to download and install
the Catalyst 3.7 drivers. Activision tested Call of Duty extensively with
these drivers and states they are rock solid. I can attest that the game
runs flawlessly with them (no "slide show" and no game freezing).

Make sure you had removed ALL drivers from our old video card... The
8500 had crap drivers.

BTW... keep in mind that your system performance is quite low, the
early P4s and Celeron (P4 cores) are crap. This was kinda KNOWN.

Even the AMD Duron (low end $35 chip) 1600 is faster than the 2.6Ghz
Celeron.
