Upgrade questions

This inquiry deals with something that won't be an issue until Vista is
released. Basically, I have a computer with two hard drives. One has only
one partition and is home to my C: drive and Windows XP Home. The second
drive has several partitions but the largest is currently home to my D:
drive and Vista RC1. My primary question is if I buy any upgrade version of
Vista Ultimate when the final is released, can I put that on my D: drive
(after removing RC1 and reformatting) and point to the XP version on C: as
justification for an upgrade. I plan to keep XP on my C: drive for a period
of time along with Vista. Will this be a legitimate upgrade or will I have
to replace the XP with Vista for it to be considered an upgrade?

If you buy an upgrade version of Vista, it effectively kills your existing
XP licence. That's why upgrade licences are cheaper than full retail. If
you wish to keep XP, the you would have to buy a full retail licence for
Vista.

Bob,

An upgrade is an upgrade. As was said above, your Vista Upgrade license
replaces your XP license.

If you want to run both OS's you need to have licenses for both OS's.

Seems there will not be a Vista Ultimate upgrade.............
no matching version of XP.
