ee have an access 2000 database that has a password enabled. We just
upgraded the pc to Access 2007 and now get "you do not have permission
p:\path_to_database for database object"
I can still connect from my pc that has Access 2000.
I tried removing the password on the database but that pc still has same
error.
Any ideas for what I have to do on the Access 2007 pc to get the correct
permission to use the Access 2000 database?
Thanks for any help.

This sounds like permission problems from somewhere besides Access.

Your wording implies that you also changed PC's at the same time that you
changes to 2007. That means that you changed a zillion other things, and
your problem is problem is probably one of those.

At first blush, this sound like a general file permissions (network/sharing)
access issue. Especially if your "P" drive is on another computer.

To narrow it down, see if you can navigate the file without using Access.

If your new PC is Vista, then that OS is just one big package of roadblocks
to doing whatever you were doing before, and you should upgrade your Vista to
XP.
