Upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional

I want to upgrade my OS XP Home to XP Professional. Can I
use an upgrade version of XP Professional that is used
for Windows 98, 98se, Me, and 2000 only?

Yes, you can upgrade XP Home to Professional. There is no special
upgrade version just for this, but the regular XP Professional
Upgrade works fine (although it doesn't say so on the box).

But are you sure you want to do this? Are you aware that XP Home
and Professional are identical except that Professional includes
a few features (mostly related to security and networking)
missing from Home? Most home users don't need and would never use
these extra features and will see no benefits by upgrading.

Yes. But be sure you really need Pro.

Yes - it does not mention XP Home on the box, but that is what to use.
Run the CD from the existing system. And first be sure you have a real
need for one of he Pro only facilities

I know its not IIS, but as a freebee APACHE, is a good web server that I
am sure can be run from XP home, great to practise on too.

You're welcome. Yes, that is one of the differences, and is a
legitimate reason for upgrading.
