What is the upgrade path from Windows XP Home to Windows
XP Pro? Do you do a format or just add the parts that
Windows XP Home does not have?

You can install the Windows XP Professional Edition Upgrade Version on
top of Windows Home. This will upgrade the entire system and not just
add the missing parts.
 
Greetings --

While in Windows XP Home just pop in the Windows XP Pro CD and let it
autorun. Select Upgrade and let it do it's thing.
