Upgrade from NT 4.0

I'm upgrading an NT 4.0 PDC to Win 2000 server. Will this
process move and or upgrade all previous User accounts or
will they have to be upgraded manually.
I have read mixed reviews on this subject the main
stumbling block upgrading an NT 4.0 PDC seems to be in any
other BDC or SDC that are still NT 4.0 which I have none.

And when the migration wizard pops up it is asking to
create a new Child domain join an existing forest etc,
what would I choose here if this is / was a PDC before.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, thank you for that information. What option do I
choose when it asks me to join or create a domain. This
was the primary domain controller and whats confusing to
me is this "child, forest, tree stuff" etc.

Thanks again.

select new domain, new tree ...... Basicaly you leave all default
selections.

Thanks again, went ok. Another question,
I have installed the PDC but made an error in naming the
domain, I transposed two letters.
I have two other Win 2000 server boxes running Terminal
services that I want to install active directory on them
as well to access my user accounts but of course it
requires the proper domain name and when I enter the PDC
name it cant resolve it.
Any quick solutions to rename the domain on a PDC or is it
possible.
Thanks again

no, but it is better to stick with xyz.com name. Don't forget about setting
up DNS server correctly. It is vital to AD.

Not using a DNS server on the Win 2000 box, its on a UNIX
machine in house. Is there any thing to look out for there?

It has to support SRV records (which version of DNS are you running on UNIX
?). DNS problems are a source of 95.6% problems in AD enviroment.
