I have been told that I will need to format my hard drive before I can upgrade to XP from Millenium Edition. Is This true?

Hi,
No.
But sometimes during upgradation one may face problems then clean
install becomes necessary.Otherwise you can simply upgrade your Win ME
to XP.

No. It is not at all true.

No. An upgrade generally goes well, and is certainly the first thing to
do. There are a few precautions - Read Gary Woodruff's article on
