Upgrade from ME to XP Home

After I upgraded, I ran a Virus Scan and it said I have
over 170,000 files on my hard drive (20 GB). Did the
upgrade remove the old OS? If not, what can I do to
delete unneeded files?

If you did a clean install then ME was removed, if you did an upgrade
install then ME was upgraded and junk gets left behind. Only way to have a
pure xp install with nothing of old left is to format and clean install.
