upgrade from 98 to 2000

Cathy

I was told I could reformat my c drive and then install
win 2000 on a computer that had win 98 running - all from
the win 2000 cd. When I restarted my computer with the cd
in the drive I reformatted, the files were copied and when
it said my computer would restart and to remove any
floppies (there were none) I removed the cd. I was then
prompted to insert it again and finish the win 2000
installation (set the time, input the key code etc) at the
end it said everything was finished and to restart my
computer after removing the cd - I did this and during the
boot up the screen freezes when it says windows is
starting up. Help!! Can this be corrected? If the win
2000 is not fully installed or installed correctly - is it
possible to now upgrade to xp?

Chances are good it's the graphics adapter driver. Try booting again choose
F8 at starting Windows, choose "Enable VGA Mode"
