Upgrade 2000 std --> adv Server

Hallo,

which license is required to upgrade 2000 standard
up to advanced (no domain role) server.

How is migration impact over production machines
standalone.

Our customer is running 4 server we can shutdown
1 of them at a time.

You can not upgrade from Win 2k standard server to Win 2k Advanced server. A
format and reinstall is required.

I will remember for future projects.

I think this is limit in the capacity plan of
windows 2000 solutions.


Sometimes preparing a startup environment for up to 10
users discover after 1 year that to get results from
SQL server they require to reinstall !!!

During 2001 and 2002 offering 2000 adv srv plus
sql ent.ed. meant an increase of more than 12.000 $.

What could be a competitive approach to Small Business
without getting into thse limitations?
