Upgarded Win2k to Win Xp - now getting registry permission errorson app uninstall/install

Hi,

Upgraded a Win2k with Sp3 laptop to Win XP with all Sp and updates.

All seemed to be fine until trying to uninstall an app that needs reg
access. Getting registry permission denied, even in local admin access
on the machine

Can anyone advise on possible fixes?

Hi,

More then likely when you upgraded you may have not taken complete ownership
of the program files. Try this, log on with the administrator account
navigate to the folder in Windows Explorer, rigt click on the folder
properties, look under the Security Tab and click the Advanced buttons and
navigate to the Tab Owner and view the owners of the folder and take
ownership of the folder and try again.
