Install apears to be running .. boxes at bottom right are
moving, screen is displaying different info messages, but
it's been displaying "50 minutes to completion" for 90
minutes. It does not appear to be making progress. This
things been running over two hours with no update to time
remaining for 90 minutes ...

Thanks but links on what to do before I start, and what
to do when I get a "real" hang don't really help. This
thing is still going, no black screen, no error, appears
to be running fine but shows 50 minutes remaining for 2
hrs now .... Disk actvity light shows no actvity... is
this thing hung?? What do you recommend?

Hi

No error messages? It could that a hardware device is incompatible withXP. Try disconnecting the hardware, apart from the mouse, keyboard andmonitor.

I have a USB mouse attached. Saw another response to
hang at 34 minutes due to USB mouse. If I hook it up
PS2, how do I restart ... power switch it off and just
restart the install??

Hi

I can't see any other way to do it. I've posted another link specific to the Black screen problem. You may like to try that first.
