Your message is a bit confusing....

The subject line is about Office 95, then you say you have Office XP and an
old WP (WordPerfect? Word Processor?) but have an add-in for Word 2000.
Finally, the whole thing is about updating.

Do you want to update Office 95 to 2000?
WP to 2000?... That is not an update....
XP to 2000? A downgrade?

If you want to go from 95 to 2000, you are going to have to buy the whole
thing... I do not think you can get an update for that, unless you buy the
update for 97, which is not available anymore, I think...

Are you talking about the reader that only allows you to read books that
have been produced, or the Add-in that allows you to generate books for
other to read with the reader?
If it is the first case... then you do not have to worry about your Word
version, it has got nothing to do with it,
(see http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/pc.asp)
Second case:
Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/reader/developers/downloads/rmr.asp
and get the add-in that is compatible with 2000, XP and 2003.

If you still have Office 95, you can install it under Windows XP (provided
it was not an OEM version). The reader will allow you to read and print Word
documents from later versions, but not create them. The current version of
Word is 2003, which you can acquire freestanding or as part of Office 2003.
The cheapest way to get Word, however, is to buy Works Suite 2004, which
includes a full version of Word 2002; see
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/products/suite.asp
