How do I open .wps from Works for Windows 95 with Office Word 2007

I had Works for windows 95 (ver 4.03.458) running with XP Pro .Well, silly
me decided to buy a new computer with Vista and upgrade to Office Word 2007.
The old .wps files don't open on the new machine. I have the old Works
software to use to convert the old files to something recognizeable by both
(if there is such a file type and I buy a 3.5 in floppy drive to load the
software), But I am looking for an easier solution. Are there any file
converters that might work?

The old Works filters should still work with Word 2007 - you can download
them from my web site.

Never ever read from, write to, or print from floppy with Word. These are
the most certain methods of ensuring document corruption.

Copy to the hard disc and work on the document from there.

This is equally relevant to other removable media such as CDRW.
