Updating Distribution Lists

Is there anyway to automate the update of distribution
lists so that the email addresses in the list match the
current email addresses in the address folder? I know
there is an update now button but it doesn't seem to do
anything when it is clicked.
 
Update Now is the only way.
It rarely, if ever, works for me either.
