when you go to add and remove programes all the updates
show up there if i remove them then the updates are gone
or have thay already been installed and thats just the
file or something and are thay taken up room on my hard

If you remove the entries from Add/Remove Programs then you uninstall the
updates.

Do not remove these. If you do, then the fixes are removed and
you are again vulnerable to all the problems they were designed
to fix.
