Every time I fire up the computer, the Updates icon is there telling me
they're ready. Every time I approve them and they start downloading - this
has gone on 3 times in the past 24 hours. What next? Should I get rid of SP3
as was mentioned here this week?

XP Pro, IE7, Office 2003, OE, all updates heretofore, current, and "Trojan"
InstallHelper.exe no longer showing up on any scans.

Thank you all.

Yes, that's just fine but which update isn't downloading, as MS tells us to
find out.
Must we write down the entire list (it gets longer each month) every time
the updates pop up?
I'm watching them myself only to be sure I'm aware of when they come, and
they're downloaded.

thank you
I didn't know it existed.

Sorry

Why aren't you asking this in

microsoft.public.windowsupdate?

(I crossposted this to that newsgroup)

"Trojan" InstallHelper.exe no longer showing up on any scans.

[There's a BIG clue!]

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation (ignore the title)

Usually Method 1 is sufficient, otherwise move onto Method 2.
