Updates??? Not working on dialup connection

I know that there are updates - I'm on definitions 5682
and everyone says they're on 5683. On my Win XP SP2 PC
with dialup, MAS updater says that "warning, couldn't
connect to internet." Yet here I am on the internet...!?

Anyone know the trick?

It works for me and I am on dial up. Both scheduling functions in the
product appear to have a number of
"issues." Did you check if its being blocked by your Windows Firewall?

Have you tried updating via File, Check for updates, in the main program UI?

Have tried updating manually using File-->Update - still
no luck.

Also made sure that its not being blocked by any
firewall...

I don't know what the issue is in this situation--and I believe I've seen
other reports. You might try an uninstall/reinstall, just in case something
didn't quite click on the install--some pretty strange non-functionalities
have been cured by this sequence.

Have any of the network communication functions ever worked--tools,
suspected spyware report, for example?
