Updates and Patches

Is there a way to download Windows and Office updates and
patches to a CD so I can update PCs that are not on a
network or on a slow dialup?

Hi

You can download SP1a from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/default.asp

also try here:

"Order the Windows Security Update CD"
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp

Any other Updates not included on those can be manually downloaded via the
Windows Update Catalog link on the Windows Update page.

I'm not sure about the Office Updates - try the Office Update News Group:

For Windows, use Windows Catalog (Found on Windows Update
Web page). You can download and save them to disk. Most times
they will be coded as their Knowledge Base ID, e.g. Q812400 or
KB812400. You can use Windows Update to scan, then jot down
the required patches and match them to their ID.

For Office, you'll need to download the Administrative updates.
These are for corporate environments, where the updates are on a
Server. They aren't as easy to locate but do a search on MS web
for IT or Administrative Office updates.
