Updated attached distribution lists

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has ever attempted this.
1. Created a distribution list in Outlook 2003 called Staff
2. Sent the Staff distribution list as an attachment in an email using the
Insert->Object Menu
3. Other person already has an old copy of the Staff distribution list in
their contacts that needs to be updated with the attached one
4. Other person received message and opened attachment which showed the
correct details from the attached staff distribution list
5. Other person attempted to Save As, drag and drop etc and ended up with a
second copy of the original Staff distribution list, one with the old
details and one with the new.

How do I get it to update the original Staff DL instead of creating a new
one?

You don't, except manually. Outlook is perfectly happy with as many contact
items with the same name as you want.
