Update Public Free/Busy Data Message

D

dchem

About six times a day, I get a statement that pops up in a
window. The statement says "Unable to update public
free/busy data. Operation failed."

What does it mean? Why is it occurring? And how can I "fix
it?"

The statement seems to be related to my Calendar
function. I have two calendars, one on the server and one
on my client computer. I use the server one but there are
entries that get mass-mailed to me that show up on the
client calendar. If I open a client-calendar file, I get
the referenced statement within 2 minutes, but it also is
showing up randomly as described above.

All ideas appreciated.

It is a normal message - it just indicates that the server is busy at the
time that Outlook is trying to update the free/busy time. If you notice
under your Calendar options, Outlook is set by default to update every 15
minutes. Seeing this message a few times a day is not unusual.
