Update on P4C800-E dlx slow read speed

Dave

Just an update and was hoping that somebody can shed a light on why I'm
getting low read speed if I'm using RAID on intel controller
Anyway here's what I did...
I updated the bios to v1014, installed Intel Application Accelerator v3.5r
and ran the benchmark once more
here's what I got (copy paste from excel)

Notice that I don't get that blazing fast read speed (809 MB/s) but still
slow
and to answer my own question, you CANNOT migrate RAID array from intel
controller to promise controller and vice versa without loosing data.
Just a warning to other people who's planning to move their RAID array from
promise -> intel and vice versa

Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

got a 2.6GHz CPU. 2 WD raptors (10K rpm) on Intel SATA, RAID0. 2 Maxtor
200GB on Promise, RAID0.

Appears SATA is CPU intensive so Promise might be a better alternative.
Software based RAID versus hardware based RAID?

Neither appears close to the stated Read Burst Speed.

Disclaimer... HDTach may be obsolete? Or at least that's what their web
site says.

Are we being sold a bill of goods about performance?

Here's my info:
