update on my clock speed problem

Michael McNeil

Last week I posted a message saying that my clock speed was fast. It
worked out that for every 5 minutes of real time, my computer was
adding an additional 2 minutes.

I messed around with a crapload of options - trying to flash bios,
adjusting time zones, installing 3rd party software to control the
time, rebooting, etc.

None of it worked. Finally I simply unplugged the machine and let it
sit dormant for roughly 5 hours. I booted up and clock runs normal
and hasn't gained or lost any time in the past 17 hours.

I wish the solution to all other problems was as simple as this one ...
Still an unusual phenomenon.
