Update on desktop problem

A couple of months ago I asked for help getting my notebook back to
where a program's icon remained highlighted when the program was
closed. Never got any help. About a week ago it started working right
again, just like my other three computers. It had always worked that
way and I like it. No idea what brought it back to it's senses.
