Why is the Windows Update icon always in the bottom right hand corner of my
toolbar?
It just showed up today after I installed the last 3 high priority updates.
Is it now permanently there? Not using SP2.

You have Automatic Updates turned on.
You may be in the process of downloading SP2, it's a big file.
