Update from XP-HOME to XP-Pro no video adapter!

I upgraded my computer from WXP-home (I don't know why!) to WXP-pro.
I have lost the video adapter. I can use the computer, but if I shut it down
i may lose the monitor?
Is it possible that I burnt the adapter out? Or is it just that the adapter
does not match the WXP Pro.

If it worked with XP Home then it should work with XP Pro. Have you tried
reinstalling the video drivers? Visit the manufacturer's site to see if they
have updated drivers or try reinstalling the drivers from the motherboard CD
that came with your computer.

I tried that with no luck!
I forgot to note that there is no sign of the of the adapter or monitor in
the divice manager.
Therefore no way to change driver.
I did not open the box!

If the adaptor and monitor are not working or missing, how in the
world are you able to view device manager? Try looking for them
again, click on the small plus sign (+) next to Display Adaptors and
Monitors in turn. What does it say for each?
