Update folder location for new AVG 7?

F

fitwell

Since yesterday the automatic updater isn't able to connect. I don't
know what the problem is, and I'll try fix that over the weekend; in
the meantime, however, was hoping to manually update AVG free 7
myself, as I used to do for v6. However, in the install folder, no
longer see a file called "updates", or whatever. Anyone know where
the updates are now put for AVG 7?

Thanks.

if its any help on my PC loaded with XP the .bin files are in this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application
Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin

Maybe in Windows 98 it would be stored in C:\windows\all users\application
data\grisoft\avg7data\upd7bin folder -

(blimey I need a headache tablet after that! - they dont make it easy do
they?)

Andy.

The Win98 folder is C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\AVG7 but there is only "Log"
and "Queue" subfolders.

You can save it in whatever folder you like. To be able to point AVG to
the folder, open AVG Control Center, select the Update Manager -
Properties - the Properties tab and de-select "Do not ask for the update
source"

Arne:

Thanks for providing the information. That worked great. I was able to go to
the site, d/l the latest .bin file, run AVG, and point to that folder. The
whole process, including going to their site and d/l the file and installing
it took less than a minute.
